Production and Lighting Services is the trading name for Tom Brayshaw’s freelance work.

Tom mainly works as a sole trader and is often employed directly by festivals, or producers to help deliver their larger projects. However, Production and Lighting Services can also offer a ‘one stop shop’ for small to medium scale events. Drawing on contacts and long standing relationships from across the arts and entertainment industry Tom can build a team to provide all planning, bump in, operation and bump out of your event as required.

Tom trained as an electrician in London and spent a decade working in UK theatre and event lighting. He has designed show lighting, toured productions, installed site wide systems and built electrical props. During his time in the UK Tom worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre and a host of other events, shows and venues.

Since arriving in Melbourne in 2004, Tom has continued to work in theatre while also adding venue and festival management into the mix. Tom has a degree in policy along with a range of site based licenses. He can design, plan, draw and write up the gig and then rig, build, drive and install it too. Since arriving in Melbourne Tom has worked on theatre, dance , fashion shows, dance parties, festivals, bands, weddings and art installations. He has done this for Melbourne Theatre Company, Malthouse, Australian Ballet, St Kilda Festival, White Night and RISING among others.
